The three Greene County amateur radio clubs (BARC, UVARC, XWARN) and Greene County ARES (GCARES) will be hosting a FREE Amateur Radio License Test Session on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 6:00PM in the Training Room of Beavercreek Fire Station 61 (BTFD Station 1), 2195 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek Ohio 45434 (just west of Orchard Lane). Please arrive 10-15 minutes earlier.

DIRECTIONS:

On US-35, Orchard Lane is the 2nd traffic light east of I-675 and the 2nd traffic light west of Progress Drive in Xenia. Go NORTH on Orchard Lane to Dayton-Xenia Road. Turn LEFT and the first driveway will be the Fire Station. Park on the west end of the Fire Station and take the steps to the Lower Level (follow the Sheriff Sub-Station signs). Please arrive 10-15 minutes before 6 PM.

Ground level access is available--if needed, please call Henry Ruminski (937-232-9272 (m) in advance to arrange for access. This is an OPEN test session for all classes of Amateur Radio License and walk-ins are welcome.

Items to bring:

(1) A government issued photo ID (i.e. driver's license).

(2) A FCC Federal Registration Number (FRN); See FRN Registration information below).

(3) If upgrading, provide the original and one photocopy of current license and the original and one photocopy of any certificates of successful completion of examination (CSCE) you hold.

FRN REGISTRATION is immediately available from the FCC website. Obtaining a FRN is a free service and it helps to keep your SSN from being compromised. Everyone ‘dealing’ with the FCC is required to have a FRN and the Greene County VE Team requires that prospective amateurs obtain a Federal Registration Number (FRN) prior to the Test Session.

The following link will take you to the FCC FRN registration page:

https://apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb/publicHome.do

(or simply Google: FCC ULS for the “FCC Universal Licensing System (ULS): ULS Home”. Click on NEW USER – REGISTER and follow the directions. Be sure to remember your assigned FRN and the password you enter during registration. Your FRN and Password will be required for all future FCC transactions (license renewal, upgrades, modifications, etc.).
