Hello, Comm Academy Attendees!

Are you ready? We are! (OK, we’re still putting on some finishing touches! But rest assured, all of the presentations are recorded and ready to go!) Here are a few things to keep in mind as Comm Academy 2021 approaches:

*	Our live stream will be hosted on YouTube at https://stream.commacademy.org <https://clicks.eventbrite.com/f/a/0HdADtAy1gYEQ9OL-lgKVg~~/AAQxAQA~/RgRiRqPyP0QeaHR0cHM6Ly9zdHJlYW0uY29tbWFjYWRlbXkub3JnVwNzcGNCCmBbcnBlYAkRnq9SDlc4TExZQGFycmwubmV0WAQAAAAA> . Right now, this is just a placeholder, so don’t worry if you don’t see any presentations there - you won’t until April 10. And we’ll share the link again in our upcoming emails.

*	When you watch the presentations, remember that our presenters will be available for live Q&A immediately after the session finishes. To participate, use the YouTube chat feature. Important note: to use YouTube chat, you need to be logged in with a YouTube Channel account. If you don’t already have one, it is easy to set one up and is free of charge. We’ll also share a help document with detailed instructions closer to the event.

Some of you might wonder: why pre-record our presentations, especially if the presenters are going to be there live for Q&A anyway?

Your CA21 staff considered the pros and cons carefully, and ultimately we decided that we can deliver the best possible experience this way. If this pandemic time has taught us anything, it’s that Murphy’s Law was not suspended for online meetings; if anything, it has had an extra workout. We think the combination of recorded presentations with live introductions and Q&A by the Comm Academy MC staff and the presenters themselves will reduce the likelihood of glitches, and will give an almost better-than-live experience.

But don’t take our word for it: we will be surveying the attendees to get your feedback on Comm Academy, so you’ll have your chance to weigh in.
