Merick, Executive Director www.ema.ohio.gov Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest Now Accepting Submissions Columbus, OH ? As part of the 2025 Severe Weather Awareness campaign, the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness (OCSWA), in cooperation with the National Weather Service (NWS) and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA), are announcing that the annual Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest is open for submissions. This contest is open to all Ohio students in kindergarten through eighth grade including individualized instruction (special education), public, private, and home school classes. This poster contest encourages students to learn about severe weather safety and preparedness. Through their illustrations of Ohio severe weather events (tornadoes, thunderstorms, flooding, etc.), students can demonstrate what actions they can take before, during, and after severe weather events to protect themselves and others. ?In Ohio, we can see the impacts of severe weather at any time, no matter the season,? said Ohio EMA Director Sima Merick. ?This contest provides Ohio's youth an opportunity to use their creative skills while learning about the threats and hazards that severe weather can pose.? Ohio grade schools will soon receive additional information about the contest. All poster entries must be postmarked or e-mailed by Jan. 10, 2025. To learn more about the 2025 Ohio Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest including the complete contest rules and entry forms, visit the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness website. ### Ohio Department of Public Safety www.publicsafety.ohio.gov Mike DeWine, Governor Andy Wilson, Director Stay Connected with Ohio Emergency Management Agency: [Facebook] [Twitter] [Youtube] [LinkedIn] [Instagram] [Govdelivery] SUBSCRIBER SERVICES: Manage Subscriptions | Help ________________________________ This email was sent to simhoff2000 at gmail.com using GovDelivery Communications Cloud on behalf of: Ohio Emergency Management Agency ? 2855 West Dublin-Granville Road ?
