Requesting Amateur Radio Operators to provide support to Young's Charity
Bike Ride on Saturday, September 6.
This is a relatively large event due to a good number of participants
and a very large geographical area. We need lots of ham volunteers. The
start/finish will be at Young's Dairy (US-68, just north of Yellow
Springs).
There are several route options. Locations are spread across southern
Clark into western Madison, and northern Greene counties.
Start is scheduled for 8 am and the last rider typically rolls in around
5 pm. Assignments will be staggered through this time period. Most of
the assigned locations require a decent mobile set-up--25 watts with a
vehicle mounted antenna (with some gain) should be sufficient for most
spots. Several loaner mobile rigs are available. Bicycle-mobile
operators would be helpful.
Contact Bob Baker N8ADO n8ado.bob at gmail.com or Janese Brooks KD8DGB

Registration for the Air Force Marathon is still open through the end of
August, but please register as soon as possible if you have not done so.
The list stands at 44 volunteers registered. We could definitely use
another 10 to 20. For more info or to request a particular assignment,
