[XWARN] Queen City Triathlon Sun July 14 needs ham help, other events coming

Community Service Event needs ham communications support for safety and 
logistics.

Queen City Triathlon:  Sunday, July 14, Caesar Creek State Park Beach 
and surrounding area. 7am--noon

(Pretty much the same as last year, if you were a part of it, except 
that they wish to have us provide coverage of the running portion - 5K 
One lap, 10K Two laps)

I apologize for not getting this notice out sooner, it's less than two 
weeks away. We need over two dozen hams to make this happen.

I have the plan from last year and I expect that we will repeat it with 
the addition of a couple of people on the run route.

Last year we used the XWARN repeater (147.165 +offset 123.0 Hz RTone). 
It covers the course pretty well, but you will need a slightly better 
antenna than the typical one that comes with an HT. Mobile set ups 
should be fine.

Also...

Volunteer sign ups for the Air Force Marathon are running a bit behind 
where we would like to see them. Please sign up if you haven't yet. 
Event is Saturday, Sept 21, but registration closes in August (to allow 
time for security checks).

New listing, old event:  Abi Khan Horse Endurance Challenge, Saturday 
Aug 17 and Sunday Aug 18. More info, soon. Fun and different!

Big event, needs lots of help: Young's Charity Bike Ride, Saturday Sept 7.

Another big bike ride: Tour de Gem, Saturday, August 31. New 
place--DayAir Park; involves Dragon's Game. More to come.
